Summary

My Letter to the World is an in-depth exploration of the life and work of the great American poet Emily Dickinson, filmed in her hometown of Amherst, Massachusetts. Narrated by Cynthia Nixon and featuring behind-the-scenes footage from Terence Davies' acclaimed biopic A Quiet Passion, this feature documentary journeys through the seasons of Dickinson's life in 19th century New England, with interviews and analysis from leading experts on her oueve. Bringing to light new theories about the Dickinson's personal relationships and most revered work, My Letter to the World rewrites the widely accepted narrative of the poet as a strange recluse in white, and breathes new life into the Dickinson legacy over 130 years after her death.
