Summary

Tensions mount for the beleaguered British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the days leading up to the Allied invasion of Normandy, France on D-Day, June 6, 1944, a pivotal turning point in World War II. Exhausted by years of war and careful not to repeat the tragic mistakes that lead to defeat at the Battle of Gallipolli in World War I, Churchill is reluctant to embark on the large-scale campaign. Clashing with Allied leaders, U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower and British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, Winston finds support from his wife, Clementine Churchill. with her strength, Clementine helps to allay his doubts and inspires him to greatness.
