Summary
At the turn of the 20th century, three generations of the powerful Forsyte family find themselves embroiled in a saga of love, adultery, obession, power, and money. On the surface, the Forsytes are the ultimate powerful Victorian family--superior, arrogant, and confident--but underneath this imposing veneer lies a festering core of unhappy and brutal relationships. The legacy begins with Soames Forsyte, a rich and successful partner in the family law firm and staunch upholder of the old moral code. His fiery relationship with his beautiful wife, Irene, leads her to embark on a passionate affair that tears the Forsyte family apart in a bitter feud with devastating consequences.
