Summary

The remarkable true story of Catana Starks from historically black university Tennessee State who became the first African-American woman to coach an all-men's team at the collegiate level. When she signed up to coach the team, she expected it to be tough but she had no idea just how challenging it would be. With no scholarships to offer and only one US student willing to work with her, she was forced to reach out across the globe and assemble a ragtag group of golfers. Through grit and determination, she overcame incredible struggles and deep-seated prejudice from all comers to guide this unlikely group to an all-time record championship season. With sage advice from her friend Roger, she taught the boys (and herself) that no matter how rough the start, with the right aim and drive, anyone can triumph against overwhelming odds.
