Summary

The hobbit Bilbo Baggins, the mighty wizard Gandalf, and a band of dwarves go on an epic quest to reclaim the dwarven home and vast treasures of Erebor. All that stands in their way is a long treacherous journey and the fiery dragon Smaug! Along this path, Bilbo meets the creature Gollum and gains possession of a mysterious gold ring that will affect Bilbo's fate (and that of all Middle-earth) in ways yet unknown.
