Summary
This documentary film traces the beginnings of New York's punk movement: the Velvet Underground years, the Warhol influence, the Dolls reign, and the beginnings of CBGB. With the aid of performance footage, rare archive, and exclusive interviews, this program offers a visual experience of these events second only to having lived through them. Features brand new interviews with Richard Hall & Richard Lloyd from Television, Suicide's Alan Vega, The Voidoids' Ivan Julian, Warhol acolytes Jayne County and Leee Black Childers, scene photographer Roberta Bayley, writers Robert Christgau and Victor Bockris--both of whom witnessed events as they unfolded--plus Simon Reynolds and Tony Fletcher representing the British view.
