Summary

This debut feature film of Martin Scorsese is the story of a young, unemployed man who is content to hang out with his equally unambitious buddies in New York's Little Italy. Then he falls in love with a college-educated girl and is forced to look at the neighborhood and life itself in a new way. Originally a student film called Bring on the Dancing Girls, it was re-edited and re-titled I Call First, playing at festivals in 1967. In 1968, Scorsese made some further alterations in order to get a distribution deal, and it was released as Who's that knocking at my door.

Notes

Originally released as a motion picture in 1968.

Special features: commentary by Martin Scorsese and directorial assistant, Mardik Martin ; "From the classroom to the streets: the making of 'Who's that knocking at my door.'"
