Summary

After being fired from her job at a lemonade bottling plant, Iris moves to a port town in search of work. She happens upon a secretarial position at a laboratory where a perplexing scientist specializes in the preservation of personal mementos. Iris gradually engages in a disturbing love affair with her enigmatic employer.
