Summer Reading Game for Tweens

Spark a Reaction

  • For tweens entering grades 5-7 in the fall of 2014
  • June 2—August 30, 2014
  • Sign up at any KPL location

How to Play

It’s simple! Read or listen to books for at least 20 minutes a day. Check off each day on your game board that you read 20 minutes. When you’ve read 20 minutes a day for a total of 15 days, bring your game board to the library for a reward.

Note—the 15 days do not need to be consecutive. You qualify for a reward as soon as the number of days you’ve read equal 15.

Reading Rewards

There are 90 reading days from Monday, June 2, through the game’s end on Saturday, August 30. You may complete four, 15-day reading segments within those 90 days so you may earn up to four reading rewards.

Claim Your Reward

When it’s time to claim a reward, please bring your game board to the library to report the days you have read. If you misplace your game board, you may receive a replacement from the library.

Please report all game play at least 15 minutes before the library closes. All rewards must be redeemed no later than Saturday, August 30 at 5 pm. No exceptions.

Bonus Rewards

This summer, you can earn a KPL bag by showing us that you love KPL! There are 20 bonus activities listed. By completing 10 bonus activities between June 2 and August 30, you are eligible to receive a KPL bag.

Bonus prizes must be redeemed no later than Saturday, August 30 at 5 pm. No exceptions.
