Michigan Storytellers: “Tales with Ties”
Michigan Storytellers will unite at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum’s first annual Storytelling Festival on February 2, 2013. The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm and includes storytellers, workshops, vendors, and story-related crafts. The festival theme “Tales with Ties” recognizes that we are all tied to our stories; they tell others who we are, what we value, and, when we share them, what it is we want others to know about us.
Share Stories with Your Child
At 11 am, KPL Children's librarian Andrea Vernola will speak in KVM's Mary Jane Stryker Theater (Kalamazoo Valley Museum, first floor) about how to select and share stories with your child. KPL will also have a table in the vendor hall at the museum where library staff will answer questions about the library’s resources and programs, provide information on getting library cards, and assist children with a literacy related craft.
First Saturday @ KPL
Then, don't miss our First Saturday event on Saturday afternoon (2 pm - 4 pm) at Central Library (co-sponsored by KPL, KPS and the Kalamazoo Valley Museum), where we’ll feature storytelling activities, raffles, giveaways and LEGOs.
