Amanda Green

I came to KPL in 1989 and began work as a part-time shelving aide in Adult Services. Having been a regular patron with my childcare center students I was very familiar with the Children’s Room and the Audiovisual section for some time. After joining the staff I soon felt right at home. My days as a shelving aide soon grew to a full time salaried staff working in Adult Services as well as at the Circulation desk. Over the years I have worked at the Reference desk, Washington Square Branch Library and the Powell Branch Library. I love working with young people! I believe that when you touch one person you touch a generation. I have been in Teen Services since before the use of computers!
Don’t let my age fool you, I am very young at heart (except I have a lot of wisdom with my youth).

I enjoy all things creative. Crossword puzzles are one of my great pastimes as well as spending time with my only grandchild, Mackenzie Amanda. I also have two beautiful adult daughters and one great son-in-law.

I have been a library lover since my childhood in Muskegon Heights and I am always encouraging others to enjoy the library and all it has to offer… endless possibilities.
