Kevin A.R. King

During the weeks leading up to my wedding, my mother stumbled upon my Baby Book. One entry during my first year stated, “Kevin sure likes books. Maybe someday he will become a librarian.” This November, I celebrate my tenth year at KPL!

As the Teen Services Librarian, I was privileged to work with a fabulous team of teen advocates in establishing one of the most highly regarded Teen Services programs in the country. Most recently I have worked as the Lead Librarian at the Oshtemo Branch and Bookmobile. Since October 2007 I have served as the Head of Loan and Outreach Services.

My new role involves managing the circulation process, security, and outreach programs which includes many of the adult events and Reading Together. I also have the privilege of selecting musicmoviesaudiobooks, video games, and other assorted media for the collection.

When I am not at work, I enjoy playing with my daughters, watching the Detroit Tigers, collecting graphic novels and comic books, and listening to a very eclectic collection of music.
