I live in Paw Paw with my wife Connie. I work in the Chemistry Department at Western Michigan University repairing equipment and computers. I started with the Ready To Read program in the fall of 2008.
I was assigned to a Head Start class room at St. Joseph's school. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with children. There are several boys in the class and I hope that I have in someway encouraged them to read. Reading is a fundamental building block for education and a fun, exciting leisure activity. This one of the reasons I wanted to work with Ready To Read. I hope that these young boys will see that reading isn't an activity that is somehow un-manly. However, I do make sure that the girls get equal time, as their needs are important as well. My hobbies and interests include reading (of course), building bicycles from scratch, boating, and exploring alternate energy sources.
