Reading Together 2011 Event
Meet Deogratias Niyizonkiza, the man who inspired Tracy Kidder’s book Strength in What Remains, and Dziwe Ntaba, Deo’s colleague and leadership partner. Deo and Dziwe cofounded Village Health Works (VHW) on the principle that all humans have the right to quality, compassionate health care regardless of their sex or their ability to pay. VHW offers health care, nutrition, HIV, TB, and malaria programs at a clinic in Kigutu, Burundi.

Deo and Dziwe will both join us in Stetson Chapel to discuss the challenges and commitments involved in founding village-based health care in the wake of violence and civil war.
This Reading Together event sponsored by the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership and the Center for Career and Professional Development, both at Kalamazoo College.
