Children’s Art from Shiga, Japan
This traveling exhibition (February 5 - 20) features two- and three-dimensional artwork created by children in Shiga Prefecture, Michigan’s sister state. 17 paintings (65cm x 50cm), 11 ceramic works (30cm x 30cm), 11 photo panels of children and 5 posters of scenes from Shiga.
Closing Reception & Demonstration of Japanese Culture
See demonstrations of Japanese culture including calligraphy, origami, storytelling, Japanese food and music by students of Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo, at the closing reception; Saturday, February 20, 2 pm, Portage District Library.
Presented in collaboration with the Shiga Prefecture Government of Japan and the Soga Japan Center of Western Michigan University.
