Tom Stechschulte, the narrator who read The Things They Carried for the Recorded Books version, will read selections from the book and talk about the craft of being a professional reader. Free program, open to the public.

| Smithsonian Exhibit Grand Opening |
Featured at the Air Zoo exhibit opening on Monday, February 20, at 7 pm, will be poet and Vietnamese poetry scholar John Balaban, who will perform accompanied by Ngo Thanh Nhan, a Vietnamese musician who plays the dan tranh. Besides being a linguistic genius, Nhan was also politically active in the U.S. during the Vietnam War. His brother, who fought for the Saigon side, was killed in it.

An evening that will change the way we think about war and reconciliation, for veterans and those who love and want to help them.
Join author and psychotherapist Ed Tick to learn more about the moral, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of war trauma. Tick's work stresses the importance of veterans sharing their stories in order to move toward reconciliation and healing. Come and learn how we can create veterans' homecoming experiences that truly help them heal.
