With a library card and access to the Internet, Teresa Teerink may be well on her way to launching a new business. “My husband’s brother-in-law manufactures horse trailers in Europe and we’d like to expand into the American market,” Teresa explains. But such a venture requires extensive research.
When Teresa turned to the “Counselors to America’s Small Business” at SCORE, they pointed her to KPL’s small business resources. In a short time, Teresa’s turned out a complete market analysis, identified customer preferences, and even developed competitive profiles —all from home. “It’s amazing what you can find with just a few key words,” Teresa says. “When we’re ready, we can even build mailing lists using the library’s databases.”
