Historic Tour Season

We are coming up on my favorite time of the year – historic tour season! Beginning in a few short weeks, we will have the opportunity to travel back in time and imagine what it was like when the homes in Kalamazoo’s historic neighborhoods were new and almost all the city’s businesses were located in the bustling downtown blocks. Lynn Houghton’s Historic Walks, sponsored by Gazelle Sports and the WMU Archives and Regional History Collections, will begin on June 2 and continue on selected Friday mornings and Thursday evenings through summer and fall. I absolutely love Lynn’s walks and can’t wait to enjoy the warm weather while appreciating the beautiful historic buildings in Kalamazoo in a way you can only do by walking and having the time to take in every detail. However, the best part is all the wonderful information you learn from Lynn about the architecture and the history of the buildings and the people associated with them....
