It’s always fun and exciting to get new books in the history room, and each one is interesting in its own way. However, some books really jump out at you and can make almost everyone want to open the cover and start looking through. Michigan Modern: Design that Shaped America by Amy L. Arnold and Brian D. Conway is that kind of book. You don’t have to be a big fan of modern architecture to enjoy this book because it looks at so many different ways that modernism permeated our society – from cars, to shopping, to entertainment, to furniture – the list goes on and on. It’s really just an added bonus that it all relates to Michigan....
