Registration Guidelines

Registration Begins

Registration begins on the 15th of the month prior to the month the class is held. If dates are not showing on individual class pages, it is likely because registration is not open for those classes yet. To check what is upcoming, see the full schedule on the calendar.

Priority Registration

Resident patrons (those persons residing within the Kalamazoo Public Library district) will receive priority registration.  Anyone outside of the KPL library district (those with reciprocal borrowership or those without library cards of any sort) will be put on a waiting list and, if there are openings, contacted 48 hours prior to the date of the class.

Please have your library card number ready when you register! If you need a library card, please stop by any of our branch libraries to obtain one. You can even begin the registration process online. If you are not in any library district, you may purchase a KPL library card which comes with all resident privileges.

Limitations

Space is limited to 10 people for classes held in the computer lab. Classes held at a branch or the VanDeusen room typically allow for more participants.

Those who register but fail to attend (or do not cancel at least 24 hours prior to class) on two or more occasions may be limited to the waiting list for future registrations.
