The challenge this summer is to “travel” to all seven continents by:
- Reading a book with a country or continent theme or setting, or...
- Attending a library program that highlights a country or continent, or...
- Visiting a community program/business/organization that represents a country or continent
Of course, if you actually travel to another country or continent over the summer, you will get credit for that! Each continent will have a track in the online game where you can indicate how you traveled. You’ll also earn a digital badge for each one completed!
Register a Class or Group
Reading groups are welcome, too! Sign up all of the readers in your class, camp, or other organization quickly and easily.
There will be 60 steps on the game board with 15, 30, 45, 60 highlighted. Log your reading on the game board or on Beanstack.
Recommended reading lists are available for each of the seven continents and grouped by reading level. Adults may access their book lists on Beanstack. Youth lists are linked below in pdf form for easy printing.
KPL staff will be visiting local organizations with Chromebooks, Hotspots, and Stamps to update logs, hand out prize books, and conduct library programs in the community.
Claiming Your Reward
When it’s time to claim a reward, bring your challenge card to any KPL location to report your progress or let staff know you earned a reward online. Staff will record your progress and give you a prize.
Please report all game play at least 15 minutes before the library closes. All rewards must be redeemed no later than Friday, August 31. No exceptions.
