How to Avoid Them!

Track your library card account online.

  • Log In to check due dates, renew items, review/cancel on-hold items, and more.
  • Hold onto your checkout receipt—it shows the due date for your items.

Return or renew items by the due date.

Add your email address to your account.

  • Receive automatic email reminders before items are due.
  • Receive email notice when on-hold items are ready for pick up.
  • Ask to have your email address added to your account.

Make sure KPL has correct personal info.

  • Ask a staff member to check your account when you visit the library.
  • Moving? Update phone, email, or address at the Circulation Desk.

Protect your library card.

  • Let us know immediately if it is lost or stolen.
  • Your library card is like a credit card, giving you access to valuable materials.
  • You are responsible for items checked out on your card.
