Borrow from Libraries Statewide!
Looking for a specific book, movie or musical recording? Can't find it in
Kalamazoo Public Library's online catalog? If KPL doesn't own an
item you want, you may be able to borrow that item from one of
150+ libraries across the state via
MeL,
the Michigan Electronic Library.
Kalamazoo
Public Library is a participating member of MeL's statewide library catalog and
materials sharing system, MeLCat. Many of Michigan's largest public,
university and college libraries make their materials available to
MeLCat.
See a list of participating libraries.
MeLCat includes most items held in participating libraries — millions
of books, CDs, DVDs, musical scores, manuscripts, and
other materials.
KPL in-district residents may now borrow items not currently
available at KPL by simply searching the MeL catalog for the item
they want, then clicking the "Get This For Me!" button.
For help searching MeLCat or to learn more, visit the
help page.
If you're having trouble finding an item in KPL's
online catalog or through MeLCat, call KPL's reference desk for help,
553-7801, or email KPL's reference librarian.
The
Library of Michigan helps fund MeL. In addition to the statewide
catalog, MeL also offers subscription
databases and links to thousands of librarian-recommended
websites.
